Decorative wooden nutcracker
Our nutcracker is a unique and sturdy nutcracker made fully out of linden wood. It is carved in the likeness of a squirrel holding a nut in its hands and you squeeze the handles to crack the nut. It is possible to crack nuts of up to about 3cm in size. The nutcracker is handmade, carved out of wood and hand painted using water-based paints.
About squirrels:
Squirrels store nuts and acorns to prepare for winter and they can find buried food as deep as 1 metre underground. Squirrels eat food rich in protein, carbohydrates and fats since they are unable to digest fibres. They mostly eat nuts, acorns, and seeds but also cones, fruit and green leaves. In early spring the buried nuts start germinating and the green buds become an important source of food.
