The oystercatcher is a wader that lives along the coast. Its Latin name, Haematopus Ostralegus, refers partly to its red legs and partly to its fondness for seafood. Haematopus means blood foot and ostralegus means oyster picker. A stylish marine bird in white, black and bright red.
