About the Species

The alpine ibex (Capra ibex) lives on steep cliffs and rocky slopes in the Alps. It is recognised by its long, curved horns and is an expert climber, moving with ease across near-vertical terrain. Once on the brink of extinction, the species was saved through protection in alpine national parks.
